Reality is NOT broken

It's very quiet and unlighted night 'cause today is the last day of holiday of New Year's.

Today's article is the book review that "Reality is broken" by Jane McGonigal.
About this book, I was really keen to read it from when I've joined in the social-game industry. That was because I've already read the book of "The game revolutions" by NHK special for my purpose of a preparation to change the career in this summer.

Starting with the conclusion, I do NOT think "Games are fulfilling genuine human needs that the real world is currently unable to satisfy. Games are providing rewards and engaging us in ways that reality is not."
It is imperfect logic that the game compensate for the lack of the real world.
I think also the game has "a reality" which is different from the real world has.

The artificial world with the game industry has a different value than the real world.
For example, we were believing that CD's jacket is very important things when we buy and enjoy music. But there is the fact that today when we use iPod/iTunes, we are not paying attention that.
On the other hand, a lot of people are enjoying in social-games, they want to complete some of collection like a character or cards. Even as it is intangible!
From personal feeling, I am very glad to know this situation, because it is symbolize that the technology is releasing people from materialism. In one way, I think it is showing "the essence of the things."

About the reality of the real world; the more we pursue the reality, the more we realize it is far from "truth".
As an example of the live of music. Today I watched "the live performance of Hatsune-Miku" on TV program. I was really surprised from it. Of course, Miku's animation is well-produced. But rather than that, it was supplying big value for people who are there.
Perhaps, this value is "affinity", it likes as "AKB48". Because everyone has an experience with letting her sing a song on a software.

As you know, I think we should understand that there exists "another reality" in the artificial world it is not only compensating for the lack of the real world.
